Continuing education is not limited to cognitive subject matter but can also apply to affective-experiential learning. Some therapists’ blind spots develop long after their training, and intermittent intensive group experiences can provide refreshing new impulses for introspection and personal change, which in turn have a salutary effect on the therapist’s work.
