Traditional psychoanalysis has been defined as a one-person psychology in that it refers intersubjective events occurring within the psychoanalytic dyad to the mind of one individual, the patient. However, within the past decade there has been a noticeable shift of emphasis toward a two-person psychology. We have collectively given greater weight to the developmental significance of actual parent-child experiences as well as to the intersubjective nature of transference. (15 pp.)
