The observation that emotions modify host resistance to infection and that they may influence the development and course of some hypersensitive reactions and autoimmune and neoplastic diseases have led some investigators to propose that immune processes play a significant role in the mediation of psychological influences in some physical illnesses. This chapter will review clinical and experimental findings concerned with the influence of psychosocial processes on immunological reactions. (47 pp.)
